Keep In Touch On The Road

A new web tool aims to keep travellers in touch with friends and family with minimum fuss.

Gap years were once the preserve of the young, but as any travel agent will tell you, more and more people in their forties and fifties are packing away their troubles and hitting the road, determined to see what the rest of the world has to offer. Also, more and more of us are spending longer periods abroad, either retiring or semi-retiring overseas.

For anyone spending a prolonged period abroad, the prospect of keeping everyone you know up to date with what you are up to can be a daunting one. The endless postcards, letters andd e-mails that you often feel obliged to send, although enjoyable, can end up eating away at the valuable time you are spend travelling.

But thanks to a new initiative from Prominent Media, you can now keep everyone you know up to date with your travel stories and show-off your exploits in one fell swoop. A simple alternative to postcards and email, My World Journal is an easy-to-use tool that allows globetrotters to keep in touch with friends and family by maintaining their own website from anywhere in the world.

Iain Row, of Prominent Media, explains: "The service is an easy way to stay in touch with people and is far more convenient than email".
